Fresh and super easy, this jam will make your morning!
In fact, it’s so good, you could eat it for dessert or right out of the jar…Yes, I may have done that…Hey, why not!
Chia seeds are packed full of omega-3’S.
This recipe is for a small batch: for 1-2 people over 2 days.
1 cup fresh berries- chopped as needed. (You can use frozen as well)
3 tsp chia seeds
2 tsp sugar or sweetener of choice (I prefer granulated maple sugar)
Place berries in a blender and pulse a few times. Berries should be well chopped and partly liquid/pureed.
Next pour the berries in to a sauce pan and allow to low simmer for 10 minutes. Stirring often. The last few minutes add in the sugar and chia seeds, stir well.
When the berries are simmered and juicy- pour or ladle them into a jar or bowl.
You can use immediately or allow the mixture to thicken over night.
In the morning you will have the most delicious jam, perfect for your toast or topped on a pancake.
Note: if you prefer a sweeter jam, you can add additional sugar in the initial mixing phase.
